As a Senior Program Manager, Cat is responsible for the Northwest Area Foundation-funded African American Financial Capability Initiative (AAFCI) project, strengthening Prosperity Now’s outreach and partnership with communities of color. In this role, she provides tailored technical assistance to six communities of practice working to build innovative pilots to increase financial stability and bridge racial wealth gaps in five states. Cat is also a strategic thought partner to the team's Senior Fellow on Racial Wealth Divide Initiative projects. In this role, she co-designed and co-facilitates Prosperity Now's internal racial wealth equity work.
As former Strategic Manager for the Portland AAFCI community of practice and founder of a Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWESB), B Corp-certified business specializing in human rights, racial equity and social justice consulting, Cat deploys a unique perspective, skillset, framework and toolkit in her work. In addition to being a certified Community Health Worker, racial justice facilitator, published researcher and staunch advocate for the underserved and excluded, Cat has been recognized for affordable housing and human rights advocacy for her work on the gentrification-mitigating Right 2 Root Campaign.
Cat holds a Master of Science in Sociology from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Political Philosophy from Portland State University.
