1:1 Fund Partners Raise Nearly $100,000 on #GivingTuesday

The 1:1 Fund, conceived and capitalized by Prosperity Now, makes it easy for children’s savings programs to raise matching funds from individual donors, large and small, thereby enabling these donors to match the CSA contributions of young savers.

On #GivingTuesday – a global day of giving to kick off the charitable giving season – the 1:1 Fund had its most successful fundraising day ever. Eleven of the 1:1 Fund’s 16 partners participated on the November 28 day of giving and raised $96,548 in net donations. With a dollar-for-dollar match on all donations up to $500 (provided by the 1:1 Fund’s National Match Pool, courtesy of generous funding from Prudential Financial), these partners collectively raised $176,115 in incentives to match the contributions of over 1,000 CSA savers.

This total broke all other campaigns in 1:1 Fund history. Promise Indiana led the pack in total dollars raised, raising nearly $22,000 during the one-day campaign. The El Monte Promise Foundation had the highest number of donors (104) of all 1:1 Fund partners on #GivingTuesday.

#GivingTuesday brought the 1:1 Fund’s combined 2017 giving over four fundraising campaigns to nearly $234,000, surpassing the 2016 total of $140,318 by 60%. Looking ahead to 2018, the 1:1 Fund will facilitate four more fundraising campaigns. The first one, Spring into Savings, will take place March 19-23. We look forward to sharing more about these upcoming campaigns in the New Year and sharing ways that you can support the 1:1 Fund’s efforts to grow children’s savings year-round.

If you missed #GivingTuesday and would still like to give, you can always support the 1:1 Fund’s National Match Pool which helps raise savings incentives which are distributed directly to CSA partners as dollar-for-dollar matches.
