Watch: The Shutdown and VITA—What’s Next?

When we left for the winter holidays, our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program) advocates had one thought on their minds—what would happen to VITA funding? As we mentioned in our 2018 federal policy highlights, last year we got within striking distance of increasing VITA by $5 million for fiscal year 2019. The Senate voted for it almost unanimously. So what happened at the end of 2018 and what happens next? Find out in our explainer videos below:
