Child & Family Financial Health

Strengthening coordination across child support systems.

Programs and policies that serve children and families play a central role in household stability and long-term economic outcomes. The way these systems are designed, delivered, and connected directly affects how families access resources, manage risk, and plan for the future.

Why Child and Family Support Matters

Early and sustained supports shape financial stability, access to opportunity, and longer-term outcomes for children and caregivers. Income supports, savings opportunities, and coordinated services help families navigate key life stages and changing economic conditions with greater confidence.

When systems are fragmented or hard to navigate, families miss out on support they qualify for. Gaps in design, alignment, and delivery affect how consistently families can access the resources they need. Prosperity Now focuses on strengthening coordination, effectiveness, and ease of access across child and family supports.

What We Focus On

We support the design and implementation of Children's Savings Account programs and related early asset-building approaches. This includes technical assistance on program structure, administrative models, and launch planning, along with sharing lessons from early adopters to guide state and local practitioners.

We strengthen how families connect to income supports such as the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit by supporting organizations that deliver outreach, enrollment, and filing assistance. Our work improves operational readiness, coordination across systems, and how families experience access to benefits over time.

We engage employers, financial institutions, and community-based organizations to explore how they can complement public systems and expand support for families. This includes examining matched savings initiatives, benefits alignment, and partnerships that build on and integrate with existing services.

Through Prosperity Now's national practitioner network, we gather real-time implementation insights, operational challenges, and emerging needs from organizations nationwide. We synthesize these inputs into actionable, cross-state learning that identifies patterns, surfaces shared challenges, and informs solutions.

We translate practice-based learning into guidance for policymakers, funders, and national partners, with attention to program design, administration, and infrastructure. This includes sharing lessons from technical assistance, peer learning and field engagement to help systems evolve and scale what works.
