Release of the 2016 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard
During the webinar, Prosperity Now's team of experts walked listeners through the latest data on 130 measures for all 50 states and the District of Columbia that reveal how well Americans are faring in their quest for financial security. Speakers also walked listeners through the many tools that are available in the 2016 Scorecard.
Each year, the Scorecard offers the most comprehensive look available at Americans' financial security today and their opportunities to create a more prosperous future. It is a powerful research and advocacy tool that helps paint a full picture of household financial insecurity in the US. This year's Scorecard brings together 130 policy and outcome measures for all 50 states and the District of Columbia to help make the case for asset-based policy reform that expands economic opportunity for all Americans.
About the Scorecard:
Released annually, the Scorecard explores how well residents are faring in the 50 states and the District of Columbia and assesses policies that are helping residents build and protect assets along five issue areas: Financial Assets & Income, Businesses & Jobs, Housing & Homeownership, Health Care and Education.
The 2016 Scorecard assesses states across 61 outcome measures and 69 policy measures in these five areas to determine the ability of residents to achieve financial security.
