Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs help millions of low- and moderate-income taxpayers file their taxes and access important tax credits each year. This free, high-quality tax assistance is an extremely valuable service, but often, people don’t realize the immeasurable impact VITA programs have on the communities they serve. Luckily, there is an important opportunity to raise awareness—by telling the stories of the individual taxpayers and the opportunity VITA services create.
Prosperity Now and the Taxpayer Opportunity Network held a webinar on Tuesday, March 3 from 2-3 pm EST for Telling Taxpayer Stories, a virtual training where experts from The Hatcher Group, and Tax Credits for Working Families will share tips, insights and examples for how you can best detect, capture and share taxpayer stories to increase awareness and support of VITA in your community.
