I'M HOME Working Groups
At the front of the I’M HOME Network are the five working groups, which combine a variety of stakeholders including housing practitioners, advocates, residents, and community organizers to pursue meaningful innovations in the manufactured housing field.
The communication’s working group focuses on promoting the work of the I’M HOME Network and its members, as well as sharing information about manufactured housing. In 2018, this group led the Right at Home communications campaign to reduce the stigma around manufactured housing.
The community preservation working group looks to develop and share strategies to protect and preserve existing manufactured home communities. Current goals include promoting the purchase of parks through resident ownership or by non-profit organizations.
The policy working group helps to educate the field about developments in policy relating to the manufactured housing field at the local, state, and national levels and provides tools for advocates and residents to make their voices heard. You can find a list of Prosperity Now’s 2019 policy priorities here.
While manufactured home residents are included in all the network’s working groups, the resident engagement working group connects the work of the network with the people it affects most. The group links residents with practitioners in the field, find funding for community organizations, and support resident protections.
The single-family finance working group works to identify best practices around manufactured housing in the lending field and supports the availability of reasonable financing products for manufactured home purchases. Progress on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s Duty to Serve is one of the biggest ways this group supports the field.
