Marisa Calderon is the President & CEO of Prosperity Now, a national organization dedicated to building pathways to economic prosperity. With over 20 years of experience across the private and nonprofit sectors, Calderon has focused on advancing economic mobility for communities across the United States.
Prior to joining Prosperity Now, Calderon served as the Chief of Community Finance and Mobility at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), as well as the Executive Director of NCRC Community Development Fund, Inc., a U.S. Treasury-certified community development financial institution. In these roles, she led efforts to expand access to affordable homeownership and increase capital access for small businesses.
Under her leadership, NCRC CDF was recognized by Fast Company as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies (2022) and by the Washington Business Journal as a DC Inno Fire honoree. Calderon has also received numerous individual honors, including being named one of Chief’s 2025 New Era of Leadership Award recipients and receiving the Profiles in Leadership Journal’s 2025 Latino & Hispanic Leadership Award. She was also recognized as one of Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women in Finance (2023) and named a Distinguished Honoree by New Jersey Community Action (2023) for exemplary leadership in housing and community development.
Calderon has been ranked on the Swanepoel Power 200 as one of the most powerful leaders in the residential real estate industry and was named a HousingWire Woman of Influence in 2018, 2021, and 2024 for advancing understanding of the Hispanic homebuying market and designing innovative, scalable solutions to address homeownership and asset-building barriers experienced by communities facing persistent access barriers. In 2021, she was also named one of Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching in Leadership and is featured in the 2021 volume of Hispanic Stars Rising: The New Face of Power.
Frequently sought out as an issue-area expert on affordable housing, banking, and immigration, Calderon has written for major publications, including HousingWire, The Hill, and Open Banker.
Calderon served as Executive Director of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), one of the largest minority real estate trade associations in the nation. During her decade at the helm of NAHREP, she authored the annual State of Hispanic Homeownership Report and played an instrumental role as Executive Producer of L’ATTITUDE, a nationally recognized broadcast and convening that brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, professional athletes, policymakers, and cultural influencers.
