She brings more than a decade of experience leading financial operations across nonprofit and corporate organizations, with deep expertise in nonprofit accounting, financial management, compliance, operational leadership, and systems transformation.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Maya is known for building strong financial infrastructure that supports organizational sustainability, operational clarity, and informed decision-making. Throughout her career, she has led complex financial operations, strengthened internal controls, and guided organizations through periods of growth and change. She is particularly passionate about developing financial and operational practices that strengthen accountability, support thoughtful growth, and help organizations direct more resources toward their core mission.
Before joining Prosperity Now, Maya held senior finance leadership roles in both nonprofit and private-sector organizations, including serving as Director of Finance and Operations for Appalachian Voices, a regional nonprofit working to advance clean energy and economic opportunity in Appalachian communities.
Born and raised in Ukraine, Maya brings a global perspective shaped by her experience navigating different cultures and environments.
