Sarah Bacerra serves as Chief Program Officer at Prosperity Now, where she leads the organization’s national Programs and Networks strategy, including the Child & Family Support and Tax Opportunity portfolios. She oversees intermediary efforts that translate research and policy into practitioner activation, technical assistance, field learning, and systems-level implementation.
Sarah brings more than a decade of experience in systems strategy, organizational leadership, and cross-sector collaboration. Prior to joining Prosperity Now, she founded Trailblazing in Color, a strategy and leadership development firm that partners with public institutions, nonprofit organizations, and cross-sector collaboratives to design strategic plans, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and operationalize equity-centered initiatives. Her work has focused on strengthening institutional effectiveness, advancing economic mobility, and building durable implementation frameworks.
Earlier in her career, Sarah held leadership roles in higher education and community-based systems, directing initiatives that aligned program strategy, student success outcomes, and organizational performance. Across sectors, she has specialized in translating complex policy and institutional priorities into structured engagement strategies and measurable implementation plans.
At Prosperity Now, she leads national initiatives advancing tax credit access, children’s savings policies, and family-centered economic supports. She has guided multi-funder intermediary strategies and national practitioner engagement models that connect policy research to real-world execution across states and communities.
Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. She is recognized for building scalable systems that align strategy, partnerships, and measurable impact to expand economic opportunity for families nationwide.
