A Municipal Policy Blueprint for a More Inclusive Path to Prosperity
Cities represent the forefront of American progress, innovation and prosperity. But that bounty is only enjoyed by some of their residents. Many low-income people and people of color struggle just to make ends meet despite being in proximity to affluence.
How do we prevent cities from becoming hotbeds of inequality? This Municipal Policy Blueprint offers a guide for advocates and policymakers on the specific set of actions they can take to spread the benefits of cities more equitably. Rather than focus on all the needed policy actions, the Blueprint identifies the most meaningful, moveable and manageable policies in areas such as income growth, homeownership, banking, tax credits, savings and more. The Blueprint also maps out the different roles and strategies change agents need to consider in order to move these policy ideas into practice.
